This restaurant is situated just behind EGA theater . It is owned by a Muslim(Bhai) and servers good Mugal food .Zaika offers traditional Mutton and Chicken varieties at affordable prices.

The best menu is the tandoori chicken , The Biryani is not spicy and lacks the aroma of Hyderabad Biryani (Rs70) . the side dishes are awesome to have .. It is better to buy biryani outside and parcel the tandoori to have nice lunch . The serving is very pleasant and food is prepared just after our orders .Some of my friends had said that this is how the a mugal biryani tastes but it is like jeera rice


The place is nice to visit for a night .... The tandoori's are really tasty and crispy to have.Their menu is pretty comprehensive with a generous splash of varieties in all sections. There are Chicken Tikka, Sheek kebab, Reshmi kebab, and a hoard of other kebabs to choose from, and most importantly none of them disappointing. Then the parade of Indian breads! I have mercilessly savored most of the naan, roti, kulcha and stuffed paratha varieties.



For vegetarians, Zaika is not the right destination. There are only a few curries for them of which two were not available that night. While the rather dry paneer robbed the tikkas of their flavour (Rs.55), the mushroom mix vegetable tava (Rs.45) was also not too exciting.

This is the best place in Chennai for Afgani,Reshmi and Iranian Kebabs ! I bet you these guys serve better kebabs than the great kabab factory.Its great value for money.Their Kebabs are juicy and yummy.The only reservation one may have is its a non a/c restaurant.

While coming down the Chetput bridge towards the Poonamallee High Road, take the road just adjacent to the Ega Theatre. Then take the first right, and bingo! Right there is the Mughal’s Zaika Restaurant. The menu is pretty light on the wallet, but strong in taste
